Implementing EFA

It normally takes 4-6 weeks to implement EFA, including adapting models and report templates, configuring the workflow and training users. For more information on the implementation process, see Implementing EFA or read about a recent implementation in this Case study.

About EFA

Model builder

EFA models are at the heart of EFA: They capture analysts’ model data, validate it and upload it to a database, where it becomes consumable throughout the organization and beyond: by fellow analysts, by research management, by sales and by clients.

EFA models are Excel worksheets, which can be placed in existing workbooks and linked to existing analyst models. They are made up of model items, e.g. Revenue, Net Profit, Shareholders’ Funds, Cashflow from Operations, etc., which are centrally maintained, meaning each time an analyst synchronizes an EFA model, changes are propagated to the local version of that model in the analyst’s workbook.

However, EFA models are not mere capture sheets: They are working models, meaning they incorporate the financial logic which links individual P&L, balance sheet and cash flow items. This means users can stress test the model by flexing the assumptions driving a valuation.
